Jazz Ensemble Auditions 2024-25

The Maloney Jazz Ensemble has been as premier performing ensemble for over 30 years! The group is a standard big band consisting of:

Saxophones

Trumpets

Trombone 

Rhythm Section: Piano, Bass, Guitar and Drum Kit 

The group rehearses during the school day and students take the class for course credit! The group is open to any grade 9-12 student musician with experience on an instrument above. This group is for experienced students who are serious about playing their instrument at a high level. 

To audition:

Each student must complete the audition form below. 

The form will ask you to upload a video of yourself playing your instrument. If you have played in jazz ensemble at your school, you should play jazz. If you are serious player but new to jazz, you can play concert music or something from your method books. You should play something that showcases how you sound on your instrument and you should play something you can play well. 

Audition submissions are due by 2:00pm on May 17th, 2024
